The latest Star Wars attraction, Rise of the Resistance, opened in Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Friday. Due to the demand Disney initiated the Virtual Queuing that gave guests “Boarding groups” to enter the attraction. These all were gone before the park even opened on the first couple of days.
Some guests were there early enough to book one boarding pass early and then snag another one for later in the day. Disney is stepping in and limiting it to one ride boarding group a day for the attraction by the MyDisneyExperience app.
WDWNT posted this image from the App:
This will allow more guests to have an opportunity to ride the new attraction. So many people came in for a vacation just to ride Rise of the Resistance, and I’m sure Disney is getting a lot of complaints about the lack of capacity available. Especially if someone just paid thousands for a trip just to see this one thing. I think it’s much more fair to limit it to one ride per day so that others can also have a turn. I’m sure it is going to be very busy for quite awhile, especially since they didn’t have annual passholder previews.
Now if it breaks down and you are given a FastPass+ to come back I’m sure they will allow you to be in another boarding group as your original one was cancelled or evacuated.
