When I think about how the Disney parks were years ago, there’s an overall wholesome feeling that comes to mind. Like I mentioned in my interview with Disney composer John Massari, Disneyland of the past was made of real magic.

Some of that magic has become defunct over the years. Now you can reclaim genuine pieces of the past!

Blog Mickey pointed us towards the Rediscovering Disneyland auction. The Van Eaton Galleries will be hosting over a thousand lots, all Disney items. This includes cast member outfits, Club 33 dining wear, ride signage, press kits, and more.

For EPCOT fans, there’s a rarity we’re excited for.

Yep! Figment! It’s not certain which part of the ride this particular prop is from, but what matters is that you can own a genuine Figment! That is … if you have $12k for the minimum bid.

(Epcot, 1980s) An original hand-painted vinyl prop of the character Figment from Epcot’s Journey into Imagination. This detailed prop is an incredible representation of the beloved character and is believed to have been used in the attraction or during the creation of the film segments seen at the ending of the attraction. The prop is constructed in a way that allows some range of motion for his body as well as the opening and closing of his mouth.

Following the prop’s initial use in the early 1980s, it was used as color and sculpture reference for the proposed Dreamfinder network television series. The prop is hollow within the thick latex, where either a hand or other mechanics could have been inserted.

Measuring approximately 20″ tall, the prop is in good condition with some surface scuffs and paint wear from use. Vinyl Skin props from Disney’s Animatronic characters are extremely rare and this is a wonderful example of the skill and craftsmanship that brings these characters to life.

Lots 1 through 630 will be up for auction on May 22, 2021 – starting at 10 AM Pacific Time, 1 PM Eastern. Lots 631 through 1193 will premiere the following day, May 23, during the same hours. No in-person bidding will be allowed. It is unclear if this will change closer to the auction date.

Click here to check out all of the listings beforehand. Fans of classic Disneyland will find a lot that may pique your interest. What items would you put your money on? Let us know in the comments.
