Glitch On Disney Plus Accidentally Erases Multiple TV Show Episodes

Ever since it’s debut in 2019 Disney Plus has been one of the biggest streaming platforms next to services like Netflix and Amazon Prime. Currently sitting and 129.8 Million subscribers world wide the service helped Disney during the early days of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The service has also produced multiple fan favorite shows like The Mandalorian, WandaVision, Loki and more.

But a recent issue has some people worried about how stable the service is. Earlier in the week a number of episodes from different tv shows on the service all of a sudden went missing.

The shows that lost certain episodes include Agent Carter, X-Men: The Animated Series, Lizzie Maguire, Duck Tales, Rocket & Groot and The Owl House. Multiple customers contacted the company to issue complaints about the missing episodes.

Disney soon released a statement saying:

We are actively working to resolve the issue impacting access to a subset of series episodes for some Disney+ subscribers. We are sorry for the experience and appreciate everyone’s patience.

Not too long ago a similar list occurred when a sequence from the Marvel show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was seemingly edited out. The scene featured segments of ultra violence that gave the show a more mature rating. But with that segment missing the show became more “Family Friendly”.

Some people believed that the removal of that scene was intentional as they had recently received a number of complaints from parent groups about the inclusion of the hyper-violent and more adult Marvel shows originally made by Netflix (Daredevil, Punisher, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and The Defenders).

Hopefully this type of glitch doesn’t happen again. It most likely was a random occurrence. The only other reason these episodes may her been deleted could have been due to an algorithm targeting specific content as Disney has censored some of their programing library on the streaming platform. But that’s just a theory.
