Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness
introduced MCU fans to the Multiverse, the concept of alternate realities where certain events resulted in different outcomes. In this film were saw multiple versions of the Doctor and saw glimpses into alternate realities.

One particularly interesting segment was when we were introduced to the Illuminati, a high council made up of individuals from an alternate reality.

The members included a version of Professor X from the 20th Century Fox X-Men films, a version of Peggy Carter where she became “Captain Carter”, a version of Captain Marvel where Maria Rambeau holds the title, Black Bolt from the 2017 Inhumans series and a brand new version of Reed Richards played by John Krasinski.

But it appears that there was at least one more well known Marvel name that was planned to be included but was ultimately cut.

According to an insider at The Weekly Planet it appears that Ghost Rider was meant to be included in the film. The insider stated:

So somebody sent me a list of five characters that were going to be in this movie that were cut.

When the insider asked if any of the scenes featuring these characters were filmed they got the response:

And this person said, ‘Filmed but ultimately cut from the theatrical version, Ghost Rider, who was a very interesting member of the Illuminati. I guess he was likely going to fight Wanda and probably die.’

It is unknown if the Ghost Rider we would have encountered would have been the Robbie Reyas version from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series or perhaps even a version of Johnny Blaze. If it had been the Johnny Blaze version perhaps Nicholas Cage could have appeared? Or could it have been the rumored Norman Reedus version?

No current reason as to why this or the other four characters were cut. Somewhere on the cutting room floor exists a version with at least five cut characters. Perhaps somewhere in our multiverse a version of the film exists where they were never deleted and stayed in the final theatrical cut.

Want do you think? Would you have liked to have seen Ghost Rider? Would you have wanted to see Nicholas Cage return as Johnny Blaze one last time?
