With the recent legal win over his Ex-Wife, Amber Heard, actor Johnny Depp is on top of the world. After years of suffering from fans allegations of abuse and having roles taken from him left and right the actor is now on a quest to revive his career. 

One former employer that Johnny Depp has stated he has no intention of returning to is Disney. From 2003 – 2017 the actor played the iconic pirate captain Jack Sparrow for their Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. In addition to that he also played The Mad Hatter in the 2010 live action remake of Alice in Wonderland and its 2016 sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Since the company quietly let him go from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise after working at the company for nearly two decades the actor felt very discharged and has no intention of returning.

However a currently unnamed former Disney executive thinks otherwise. In a recent issue of People Magazine they stated that a former Disney executive reached out to them with the following comments:

“I absolutely believe post-verdict that Pirates is primed for rebooting with Johnny as Capt. Jack back on board. There is just too much potential box office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture.“

Despite this executive’s enthusiastic belief that Depp would return is, at least for the moment, highly unlikely. Depp is quoted as saying he would only return to his iconic role as Jack Sparrow ins exchange for “$300 million and a million alpacas“.

Not to mention that a female-lead Pirates of the Caribbean film starring Morgot Robbie is currently in development. Not to mention the rumors that former pro-wrester turned actor Dwayne Johnson will supposedly take over as the next face of the franchise.
