A couple of pictures have surfaced showing Rachel Zegler in costume for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White. There has been a lot of controversy around this film, from the fact that Disney keeps making live-action remakes of everything, the backlash from the dwarf community after comments by Peter Dinklage, a fire that burned down the sets, to some feeling the actress isn’t the right fit for the character and now the costume.
I can see where people are coming from on the costume for sure. The yellow is very off-putting.
Take a look!

While it isn’t that far off from the original Disney design, the yellow being used doesn’t seem to work.
Here’s what people are saying:
From the waist up, chef’s kiss. It looks very much like the dresses you’d see in old Germanic portraits from the 1500s. From the waist down, NO. Too much yellow. They should’ve kept the rest of it blue. Something like this. pic.twitter.com/Wgg4EBC4oC

Someone else did point out that different fabrics are used for different scenes and this could be due to that:
You’d be surprised how certain materials used in costuming can look trash unless the specific lighting for the scene is applied. Also there are always numerous versions of a costume that are used for specific scenes. Thicker fabric, fan air waving fabric, reflective fabric, etc.

Another commenter pointed out that it might look better after edits:
I think it’ll look better once we see an official first look and/or a trailer.

Yet another poster asks Disney to stop the live-action remakes and I 100% agree!
Can we pls just stop with Live-Action Remakes? Thanks.

The more I look at the costume the more I feel it looks like a child’s costume from Walmart. With everything going wrong on this film Disney might want to rethink it and go back to making new animated features instead of cheaply doing live-action adaptations of existing works.
