Epcot is famous for it’s “International festivals” and now guest can participate in the Festival of the Holidays, open until December 30th at Walt Disney World!
What is the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays?
“The spirit of joy and seasonal lore infuse Epcot, where storytellers from countries around the World Showcase share legends and traditions ranging from a musical tour of the Great White North with the Canadian Holiday Voyageurs to the Hanukkah Storyteller’s tales of diverse music and customs (between Morocco and France pavilions). Daily performances of JOYFUL! A Celebration of the Season, will share uplifting gospel, R&B and holiday songs of Christmas and Kwanzaa at the World Showcase Plaza Stage.”
Of course there are all the holiday kitchens around the World Showcase where you can find amazing dishes like: “Potato Dumpling with Mushroom Sauce from Germany, Slow-Roasted Turkey with Stuffing at American Holiday Table, Canadian Wild Rice and Ham Soup from Yukon Holiday Kitchen”
Or you can check out the Holiday Cookie Stroll where you can buy cookies at the participating booths and get a “completer cookie” for free.
There is also the Candlelight Processional that happens two times nightly at 6:45 and 8:15 PM at the American Gardens Theater in the American Adventure pavilion. Celebrity guests appear to read the Christmas story along with an amazing chorale. It’s really worth seeing!
Plus this year there is a new event in The Land Pavilion. Living with the Land: Merry and Bright Nights has the greenhouses decorated and beautiful! Living with the Land is one of our family’s favorite rides at Epcot. I know it’s older and it’s “edutainment”, but we love it!
If you haven’t stopped in to check it out make sure you add it to your list of times to visit Epcot!
