Finding a solid breakfast options in Universal Orlando CityWalk presents some challenges. Of course, there exists Voodoo Doughnut, Starbucks, Cinnamon, and even the Coke kiosk for quick service breakfast. What if you want full-service breakfast? Though many people like to point out all day brunch menu at Toothsome, Toothsome open at 11am. That function as a bit late for breakfast.
However late in 2021, Hard Rock Café started serving breakfast again. Their breakfast hours are very limited from 8am to 10am. Depending on when you visit, the 10am functions as absolute last-minute people may enter to order breakfast. Still, the breakfast menu offers many excellent choices.
However, before discussing a highly recommended breakfast menu item, I have a word of warning. The breakfast service often functions as very slow. The combination of less staff and not the normal large number of customers adds to this inconsistent service. The staff performs their duties quite well, but operation struggles sometimes. For example, on one weekend morning, it took about an hour for a group to get their food, after ordering, with only about four other tables being served in entire place. Some of the photos in this article come from that group.
On a more positive note, the Eggs Benedict here comes highly recommended by Universal Orlando veterans. The quality of this breakfast items deserves attention. The Eggs Benedict costs $16.00. The menu description reads toasted English muffins topped with Canadian bacon, poached eggs, and classic Hollandaise sauce. These come with a side of home fries. Now, unless I remember incorrectly, these “home fries” looks a lot like hash browns in my culture. I will let you decide from photos.
So how did they taste? First, several of my very experienced Universal Orlando friends order this every time. They speak glowingly about the overall quality. In fairness, the taste of the Hollandaise works very well. The eggs are well prepared. The toasted English muffin function merely as a vehicle for sauce and eggs goodness. The potatoes work as a good balance to the other flavors. In terms of taste, this breakfast item deserves some solid praise. I would not define this as a phenomenal breakfast. Yet, people desiring a true sit-down style breakfast will enjoy this.
On the negative side, the portion size for $16 appears high to me. Yes, AAA members and some Universal Orlando annual passholders get up to a 15% discount. However, I expected a bit more food. Having said that, the quality of this egg-based dish would be worth your time. If you want to dine like a rock star, the Hard Rock Café will always be there to provide a dining experience. As always, eat like you mean it!
