On Earth-2149, a Sentry from another universe arrives infected with a deadly virus that zombifies anyone he bites. Not even the ruler of Latveria, Doctor Victor Von Doom, is clever enough to remain uninfected. Now you can own a zombie version of Dr. Doom with this 7″ tall NYCC exclusive bust.
Imagine how shortly we’d last if superpowered humans suddenly got the taste for human flesh. There’d be little we could do. In the Marvel Zombies comics, not even the Silver Surfer and Galactus could stop these undead heroes. We’d be toast, or at least smeared on it.
We all know Doctor Doom hungers for power, but on Earth-2149, he hungers for human flesh! The Marvel Zombie Doctor Doom 7-Inch Bust – NYCC 2021 Exclusive showcases the undead metal-clad megalomaniac! Transformed into a zombie along with the rest of the superheroes and villains, his shambling corpse continues to exist inside his once-impenetrable armor. Measuring approximately 7-inches tall, this highly detailed bust depicts the undead Doom pontificating, and is limited to only 750 pieces. It comes packaged in a full-color box with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
This NYCC exclusive can be pre-ordered now at Entertainment Earth. Doom is $119.99 and will ship in November of this year.
My favorite Marvel Zombies story is the short-run crossover with Ash and the Army of Darkness. Ash unintentionally helps the zombie apocalypse spread on Earth, turning the heroes and villains of Marvel into flesh-eating deadites. Of course, Dr. Doom makes an appearance in this story, too.
The original graphic novel can still be found on Amazon for a reasonable price. The story of the Marvel Zombies continued with other stories and even made it into the Disney+ series What If…?.
What are your thoughts on the Marvel Zombies stories? Fun distractions or a victim of the mid and late 2000’s zombie craze? Let us know in the comments.
