Wow! Disney has outdone themselves with this Disney Designer Collection line. The popular Midnight Masquerade series of dolls has returned. This time featuring six Disney villains!
Included in the new series are: Maleficent, Lady Tremaine, Ursula, Yzma, Evil Queen and Hades!
Each week starting on October 6th, there will be a MerchPass window for each doll. So good luck with that one!
The first doll will be Maleficent. She’s limited to 5,200 pieces and she will be open for MerchPass on October 6.
Next is Lady Tremaine from “Cinderella.” This doll is limited to 4,400 pieces and will be open for MerchPass on October 13.
The third doll is Ursula from “The Little Mermaid.” She is limited to 5,100 pieces and will be open for MerchPass registrations on October 20.
Fourth in the series is Yzma from “The Emperor’s New Groove.” I’m really excited to see her because you really don’t see much of Yzma and she is one of the most fun villains out there! She is limited to 4,500 pieces and will be available on October 27.
The Evil Queen from “Snow White” is up next. She and Maleficent are pretty standard in the villain line up anymore. She’s limited to 5,000 pieces and will be available for MerchPass on November 3.
Finally, we get Hades from ‘Hercules.’ Lately Hades has been making a lot of appearances at Disney. On spirit jerseys, in villain events and more. This doll is limited to 4,300 pieces and will become available for MerchPass entry on November 10.
Wow! These dolls are amazing! Like other MerchPass events, the lottery entry will open up at 7AM PST / 10AM EST on the dates listed. You will be able to enter each one for that date (Until 11:59 PM PST/ 2:59 AM EST.)
The pins will be sold separately and according to Shop Disney the dolls and pins will be available in store at a later date as well. No word yet on pricing.
It’s also likely that they will have other merchandise for each villain like they did with the princesses for the Midnight Masquerade collections.
I’m not sure why they limit these the way they do. It would seem to me that the rarer characters should have more availability since most people are going to want them, but it could just be a way to keep the prices up in the after-market?
If you want these dolls make sure to sign up for the MerchPass, but don’t hold your breath because it will likely go like it usually does, with most of them ending up in the hands of scalpers selling on auction sites. I really wish those of you that want these luck and hope you get chosen.
