Disney’s Family Dance Competition ‘Disney Fam Jam’ to Premiere on February 23

The Disney Channel will be hosting it’s very first family dance competition series called Disney Fam Jam.

Premiering on Sunday, February 23, at 8:25 EST/PST, on Disney Channel and Disney Now, this show will feature two families an episode.  During the show, the studio audience will vote for their favorite “dance family” and winners will receive a $10k prize and a trophy.

This new show was inspired by choreographer Phil Wright’s dance classes he offers called The Parent Jam™. They are online streaming classes that have become popular online.

Ariel Martin and Trevor Tordjman, from the upcoming Zombies 2, will co-host the half-hour episodes. While Wright takes the audiences “…behind the scenes as he gets to know each family and how dance plays a part in their lives. The families will learn choreography from Wright and master their special moves during the rehearsal of their big stage performance. Martin and Tordjman will join Wright on the electrifying “Disney Fam Jam” stage, where the families come together to compete in front of the studio audience.

It was showcased on The Ellen Show back in October:

Tune in starting on Sunday February 23, for this new family show.

It’s kind of nice seeing a family based competition show again. I haven’t seen one in awhile.
