Disney has announced that starting on May 21, 2025, both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon will be open for the summer at Walt Disney World. I think they are panicking about Epic Universe and Universal Orlando Resort as the announcement date is one day before Epic Universe opens.
From May 21 through September 7 both water parks will be open to the public. No, this is not an April Fool’s Day joke.
Blizzard Beach will temporarily close from May 1- May 20 ahead of its reopening. Instead of staying shuttered for months while Typhoon Lagoon is open Disney is pushing them both out this summer.
This is the first time since 2019 that Disney had them both open and the timing with the competition is extremely interesting.
Disney is trying everything it can to try and gain guests as they will likely take a hit from the new theme park across town.
