We have some good news and some not as good news. The good news is that Disneyland is still working on the theater for the upcoming Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction coming to Disneyland park. The not as good news is that the opening is now 2023 instead of 2022.
Ken Potrock, President, Disneyland Resort took to Instagram today to post this update:
He says:
“I am thrilled to share my “Happiest View on Earth” with you today, a special peek outside a window at our Team Disney Anaheim building. This particular view offers a behind-the-magic look at a momentous milestone that happened today at @Disneyland park – the first steel beam has been placed for what will be the future Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction, scheduled to open for guests in 2023!”
The construction is moving forward and the first vertical beam has been installed for the El CapiTOON Theater that will host the attraction. Unlike the version at Walt Disney World that used an existing theater for the attraction, the Disneyland version has to have a theater built to house the ride.
Clearly the project is moving forward, but we might have to wait a bit longer to see it completed.
