Disneyland Resort announced that the transformation of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel into the Pixar Place Hotel will officially be completed in just a few months, on January 30th, 2024, becoming the first fully Pixar-themed hotel in the United States.

According to Disney “Pixar Place Hotel will evoke the inspiration and humor that goes into every Pixar film, while celebrating the artistic process. Showcasing early sketches to finished design, the art and decor will highlight vibrant Pixar stories, revealing some never-before-seen artwork.”

Disney continued “When the lobby is complete, you will see even more unique art inspired by Pixar films and be greeted by the iconic Pixar Lamp balancing atop its ball, with an imaginative mobile of beloved Pixar characters floating from the bright skylight above.”

Lastly “The mobile will depict the beginning stages of Pixar filmmaking, when animators create the characters’ designs with their most basic shapes and colors. The characters you’ll see are at the beginning of their journey, just as the guests who step into the lobby begin their own story at the Disneyland Resort!”

The Pixar Place Hotel Look

Disney offered a look inside one of the reimagined guest rooms, which includes pillows inspired by the Pixar Ball, lighting reminiscent of Luxo, Jr. – the Pixar Lamp, and whimsical nods to the iconic animation studio throughout these comfortable and contemporary accommodations. Art and decor inside the rooms will consist of concept art from a variety of Pixar features, including The Incredibles, Toy Story 3, and other films.

Outdoor elements, such as the Pixel Pool and Crush’s Surfin’ Slide, are already visible to guests.

STOR-E — a new gift shop with a playful take on the Pixar film name WALL-E — features Pixar-themed merchandise, plus other Disneyland Resort souvenirs and sundries.

The hotel recently opened a new and expanded fitness center, including an eye-popping mural of Mike and Sulley running on a treadmill.

Disneyland Resort notes that Paradise Pier Hotel is open and welcoming guests during this transformation, and continues to offer the added benefits of staying on property, including a dedicated entrance across the street with direct access to Disney California Adventure.

Great Maple Restaurant

Opening in November – ahead of the resort’s completion – Great Maple restaurant will bring an innovative menu of upscale comfort food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

A scratch kitchen will offer a selection of dishes ranging from Cajun Shrimp & Cheddar Biscuit Benedict, Soda Pop-Braised Baby Back Ribs, Charred Cauliflower Hummus, Maple Pecan-Crusted Salmon, Market Fish, a variety of inspired salads, and a frighteningly fun sounding Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Doughnuts.

In addition the restaurant, Great Maple will also be opening two other supporting eateries: Sketch Pad Café – a new grab-and-go coffee shop in the lobby, and Small Bytes – a rooftop pool bar serving up salads, wraps, cheese plates, and signature beverages.
