Disneyland Paris Closes Once Again Due to Another Lockdown in France

Disneyland Paris is closing once again due to another lockdown announced by President Emmanuel Macron. This latest lockdown is expected to last until December 1 “at a minimum.”

Non-essential businesses, restaurants and bars will be closed starting Monday as European countries including France and Germany battles a surge in coronavirus cases that may cause capacity issues.

Here’s more from CNN

The closure starts at the end of the day on Thursday and is “in line with the latest direction from the French authorities,” Disneyland Paris said in a statement.
It hopes to open for the holiday season and will be taking reservations from December 19 through January 3 “based on prevailing conditions and government guidance at that time,” it added. The theme park will be shut from January 4 through February 12.
That statement can be read below.

This is going to be yet another dose of dismal Disney news for The Mouse House, which has taken a massive beating during the pandemic.

Disneyland in Anaheim still remains closed indefinitely, the Disney Cruise Lines are also down indefinitely and even though Walt Disney World is mostly open, 28,000 Cast Members have been let go including many actors and other live entertainers.

It’s unclear at this point, though unlikely, if Walt Disney World would need to close again unless COVID-19 cases skyrocket during a second wave this winter. Though cases have reportedly been on the rise, Gov. DeSantis seems committed to keeping the state’s tourism industry going as much as possible at this point.
