Disney Cruise Line just can’t catch a break. They finally got up and running again and they were anxiously awaiting the maiden voyage of their newest ship the Disney Wish. Ads for the cruise ship have been popping up all over and now the first sailing has been delayed by weeks.
Originally the maiden voyage was scheduled for June 9, 2022 and now it has been moved until July 14, 2022.
The issue has to do with the Mayer Werft shipyard where the Wish is under construction. They are claiming the setback is due due the pandemic and Omicron in Germany.
Now Disney Cruise Lines is reaching out to guests that are impacted to help them reschedule. This time they are going to be given the option of a 50% discount on a future cruise departing on or before December 31, 2023

Disney Cruise Line President Thomas Mazloum put up a video about the situation
(comments are turned off on YouTube of course.)
Here’s the Tweet:

It’s part apology, part explanation of what comes next and part commercial.
Here are the dates that have been impacted:
- June 9, 2022 –
- June 14, 2022 DVC Member Cruise
- June 17, 2022
- June 20, 2022
- June 24, 2022
- June 27, 2022
- July 1, 2022
- July 4, 2022
- July 8, 2022
- July 11, 2022
- July 15, 2022
- July 18, 2022
July 22, 2022 seems to be the next cruise available. They probably need the initial ones to cover all their VIP and influencer sailings.
