Disney Wish Construction Still Moving Forward in Germany

There has been a lot of bad news for Disney this year, the parks are closed, the theaters are closed, and the cruises are cancelled, but we do have some good news! The Disney Cruise Line Blog posted a link to a video of the upcoming ship, Disney Wish, being built at the Neptun Werft in Germany.

Here’s a video posted to to inselvideo on Youtube:

The write up says:

The new Disney Cruise Line flagship, the Disney Wish, is under construction. The engine room unit of the LNG-powered new Disney cruise ship is currently being completed at the Meyer Neptun shipyard in Rostock, Germany. Delivery is scheduled for 2022.

For the new ships Disney Cruise Line has hired MEYER WERFT, the people who previously built the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. The Disney Wish will be the first up with sailings in 2022, and will be the first in the Disney fleet to “feature an eco-friendly LNG drive system.”  The new ships, starting with the Disney Wish, are going to be larger than the last ships.

Each ship has a character featured on on the back of the ship that expresses the theming for that particular vessel. With the Wish, Disney is featuring Rapunzel.

That feel is carried through to the concept art for the atrium as well:

This one is going to be a beauty. What do you think? Comment and let us know!
