Disney+ ‘Star Wars: Andor’ Series Rumored For Summer Release

Now that we have a release date for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi show and Ms Marvel it seems that the schedule for upcoming shows could be taking more shape. A new rumor now hints at when Star Wars fans can expect the Rouge One prequel series called Andor.

A tweet posted by Bespin Bulletin claims that the new show is coming this summer after Ms Marvel.

The Cassian Andor show wrapped up filming last September, so it should be ready around that time.

For those that don’t know here is the synopsis for the 12 episode show:

Follows the adventures of Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna will reprise the role of Andor, which he originated in the 2016 film. The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.

The show is set five years before Rogue One.

We do know that the show was supposed to come out this year, but things change all the time.  Normally Disney doesn’t put their “tentpole” franchise shows up against each other too much so it would make sense to put it up after Ms Marvel —although Obi-Wan Kenobi will overlap Ms Marvel.

The upcoming tentpole shows with release dates are:

Moon Knight – March 30th

Obi-Wan Kenobi -May 23,2022

Ms Marvel – June 8, 2022.

Andor coming next would make sense. But of course it’s all rumor.
