Late last night the messages started coming in on social media from people trapped on the Skyliner and pictures of cars backed up into each other at the Riviera Resort station. Now the good news is I don’t believe there were any injuries. That’s what matters, but at the time of the accident, it only opened six days before.
A couple of days ago there was a huge back up of people waiting to get on the Epcot line.
The #DisneySkyliner logistics at the end of the night at Epcot are a mess. At this point, we can't recommend using the system as a reliable form of transportation. From frequent stops to managers who weren't prepared for park close, there are plenty of growing pains pic.twitter.com/wQrbqxU1C6

How is this going to affect it going forward?

On a Walt Disney World Annual Passholders Facebook page boasting over 140K members, panicked posts asking for help were actually deleted by the Group moderators (hat tip: Valdez) …
WDW News Today has been on top of the accident with multiple updates you can read here.
We have to give props to the first responders and Disney Cast Members who dealt with the situation, making sure that all Guests were evacuated safely.
This isn’t a good look for Disney on top of Galaxy’s Edge being viewed as a flop by the media and the Riviera resort hotel having a fire sale to fill rooms before it even opens.
Disney is having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad year.
