Disney is reportedly selling off Vista Way apartments, according to the Orlando Business Journal. The closure of the College Program housing complex has been rumored for quite some time, with occupants being moved to Flamingo Crossings.
From the OBJ…
Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) is selling its 468-unit Vista Way apartments at 13501 Meadow Creek Drive next to Walt Disney World, according to marketing materials obtained by Orlando Business Journal.
Meanwhile, 5 acres is also potentially for sale for “investors interested in ground-up development,” according to marketing materials. The site may attract interest from hotel groups due to its proximity to Walt Disney World.
Neither Disney nor CBRE Group was immediately available for comment.
The property, built in the 90s, has quite the reputation among Disney fans with many calling it “Vista Lay” due to its reputation for partying. How magical.
Oh bother.
The 34.6-acre property’s 2020 market value was $63.1 million. However, the property will likely sell for tens of millions of dollars more due to its location and amenities, according to the Orange County Property Appraiser.
