Disney+ Releases Hilarious New Promo For Upcoming ‘Muppets Now’ Show

Disney+ is out promoting the new ‘Muppets Now’ program coming on July 31st. They give us a brand new teaser in a truly Muppet way, complete with Zoom room-esque call and “Joe from legal.” As a channel that strives for an honest approach to Disney, Joe from legal hit that right on the head and I love it! I’m glad he’s going to be in the show.

What we learn from the promo:

  • We learn the show was greenlit (which we knew)
  • We learn that it is coming on July 31st (again we knew that)
  • ‘Muppets Now’ will be their streaming debut will all new episodes of Digital content
  • The episodes will be called ‘Muppisodes’, to enhance the IP
  • New, unique show, without scripts
  • There will be rotating guest stars (not to be rotated in clotted cream)

I’m actually quite excited about this as it seems it’s going back to more of what The Muppets originally was. Their last show ‘The Muppets’ really didn’t seem to get what they were and honestly ended up being yet another failed attempt at “updating” a beloved property to “modernize” it.

You can check out the Official Trailer here:

Here’s the official write-up:

Muppets Now” is The Muppets Studio’s first unscripted series and first original series for Disney+. In the six-episode season, Scooter rushes to make his delivery deadlines and upload the brand-new Muppet series for streaming. They are due now, and he’ll need to navigate whatever obstacles, distractions, and complications the rest of the Muppet gang throws at him. Overflowing with spontaneous lunacy, surprising guest stars and more frogs, pigs, bears (and whatevers) than legally allowed, the Muppets cut loose in “Muppets Now” with the kind of startling silliness and chaotic fun that made them famous. From zany experiments with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker to lifestyle tips from the fabulous Miss Piggy, each episode is packed with hilarious segments, hosted by the Muppets showcasing what the Muppets do best. Produced by The Muppets Studio and Soapbox Films, “Muppets Now” premieres Friday, July 31, streaming only on Disney+.”

This new show, will hopefully, hit the nail on the head and bring the Muppets back. Hoping it’s good! (Please be good!)
