Disney Pushes ‘Star Wars’ Even More with ‘Triple Force Friday’ and Celebrity Live Stream

Disney has just announced that they are going to promote Star Wars with another week long toy promotional event leading up to Triple Force Friday on October 4th.

“..we’ll be revealing new products inspired by “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” “The Mandalorian” and “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” for the very first time. The event will kick off a weeklong countdown to Triple Force Friday when new products inspired by these Star Wars stories will hit shelves worldwide, including a variety of Disney Parks exclusive items.

Besides the huge Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge push, there’s not a toy and merchandise push too. Now doing an October release date event is not new. I think that combining all these Star Wars pushes at once could push people further into apathy, even with “Star Wars celebrities.”

“On Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT, fans around the world can tune in to the event from Pinewood Studios in London where the upcoming theatrical release “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” was filmed. Via live and recorded vignettes, an ensemble of veteran and new Star Wars talent will reveal new products that will roll out around the world on Triple Force Friday, Oct. 4.

This will take place on their Star Wars YouTube Channel.

Star Wars talent participating in the global reveal will include fan favorites such as Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Pedro Pascal, Cameron Monaghan and more! Livestream viewers also will be treated to the worldwide premiere of a new trailer for “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,” along with other special surprises from across the Star Wars galaxy.

There will be looks at new character products and a “wide array of products” from toys, to apparel, books, gaming, tech, home goods, and accessories.

Good news you can join the social media conversation by using the Triple #ForceFriday at in-store celebrations around the globe on October 4th.

If you are in Anaheim and Orlando can do midnight shopping at World of Disney in both Disney Springs and Downtown Disney.  Disney Springs will also offer midnight shopping at the “LEGO® Store, along with Star Wars-themed food and beverage offerings and a LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon Master Build Event.

I think if they are worried about “brand fatigue” this constant promotion might not be the best course of action.

But good news for fans, first looks and new toys are coming soon. I just hope they don’t end up sitting on shelves for two years like they did with “The Last Jedi.”
