Yesterday was an unusual day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Boarding Groups remained available and open for those who wanted them. Later, when the Virtual Queuing system shut down at 7PM, Disney let people without boarding groups go into the attraction via standby.
This comes from WDWNT and Scott Gustin on Twitter:
“Boarding passes continued to be available until 7 p.m., when the virtual queue system ends for the night. At that time, all guests were allowed to enter the standby line. Scott Gustin reported via Twitter that there was virtually no wait for the popular attraction by 8:30 p.m., half an hour before the park closed.”
It’s 6:37 p.m. and you can still get a Rise of the Resistance boarding group at DHS.

If someone park hopped to Disney’s Hollywood Studios they would have been allowed into the standby queue that evening. Normally the boarding groups are limited to those who have park passes for Hollywood studios that day.
It will be interesting to see if this continues and how it continues.
