As COVID cases skyrocket in Florida, Disney is now mandating that all salaried and non-union U.S. employees must get vaccinated.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney employees who aren’t already vaccinated and are working on-site will have 60 days to do so, the company said.
Proof of vaccination will be required and all new employees must also be vaccinated.
“At The Walt Disney Company, the safety and well-being of our employees during the pandemic has been and continues to be a top priority,” the statement read. “Vaccines are the best tool we all have to help control this global pandemic and protect our employees.”
Talks with the unions about the vaccination requirement are currently underway.
Other large employers, including Google, Facebook and Walmart, have recently unveiled vaccination policies for employees. Some others, like Boeing and GE, currently are not mandating vaccination.
