Disney Has Released the New Jungle Cruise Trailer and Poster

Disney has just dropped the new Jungle Cruise trailer. I’ve been waiting for this one for awhile now.

They also shared the Theatrical Poster:

It does feel a it like Dwayne Johnson is getting type cast a lot for jungle movies. With the Jumanji franchise, Rampage, and he was in Journey to the Center of the Earth 2 as well. But, he really does a great job in this genre.

Disney parks fans will not be disappointed because they get some of the attraction jokes in there that the character has clearly staged, like the attraction, and it’s done in a way that is on the nose yet funny and fits the film well.

It does feel a bit like the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise with the “curse” that they allude to in the trailer. Jumanji had something like this too.

Emily Blunt seems to be pretty good in this as well. It almost has the Mummy type vibe going on with the plot and her character. All of these are good things, so far!

Check it out!

Here’s the official synopsis:

Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE is an adventure-filled, Amazon-jungle expedition starring Dwayne Johnson as the charismatic riverboat captain and Emily Blunt as a determined explorer on a research mission. Also starring in the film are Edgar Ramirez, Jack Whitehall, with Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti. Jaume Collet-Serra is the director and John Davis, John Fox, Dwayne Johnson, Hiram Garcia, Dany Garcia and Beau Flynn are the producers, with Doug Merrifield serving as executive producer. Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE opens in U.S. theaters on July 24, 2020.

Originally it was supposed to come out today, October 11, 2019, but it was shuffled back to summer 2020. I wish it had come out today, but I can appreciate the move of releasing the trailer on the original opening date. Better than nothing.

Overall, I am liking the looks of it so far. The way it pays homage to the original attraction, yet stays exciting and funny remind me a lot of the first Pirates of the Caribbean and that is definitely a good thing. Who know when and what we will get with Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

What do you think? Comment and let us know.
