Disney, not to be outdone by Universal Orlando, has just upgraded their policy making outdoor mask wearing optional.

Starting tomorrow guest will be allowed to take masks off outdoors.

Here’s what the updated policy states:

“Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) and Cast Members. Please bring your own face coverings and wear them in all indoor locations, except when actively eating or drinking while stationary and maintaining appropriate physical distancing. Face coverings are optional in outdoor common areas at Walt Disney World Resort, but are still required upon entering and throughout all attractions, theaters and transportation.

All face coverings (whether disposable or reusable) must:

• Be made with at least 2 layers of breathable material
• Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin
• Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
• Be secured with ties or ear loops and allow the Guest to remain hands-free“

Like Universal Orlando, masks will be required indoors and on attractions. Disney is also mandating that they be word on public transportation as well.

That escalated quickly.

Disney has also put out a chart for guests indicating which situations would require wearing a mask.

I figured Disney would follow Universal Orlando’s move, but I thought it would take a bit longer than this.

Hopefully this is good news for guests coming to the parks in the Florida heat. I know we all look forward to when we don’t have to wear them at all.

I think we will all be looking at the world around us a bit differently and appreciate seeing others a bit more.
