Disney Discontinuing Pirate Rooms at Caribbean Beach Resort

There are a plethora of different types of resort rooms and villas at the Walt Disney World Resort. From Lion King Suites, Ariel themed rooms, to Pirate themed rooms – Disney has a room themed for everyone’s prerogative.

At the Caribbean Beach Resort, in the Trinidad section of the large resort, there are rooms themed to Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The rooms are decorated to tons of Pirate regalia. In the rooms, guests will find Pirate ship beds, gold coin accented mirrors, barrel shaped tables, and other Pirate décor. These rooms have not been around for a long time and today Disney announced that they will be discontinuing these rooms in late 2022. No exact date has been given to the end of these Pirate rooms.

DisneyDining.com stated that these rooms were supposed to be seen as the most popular rooms at the resort. However, the couldn’t be further from the truth for a multitude of reasons. Disney Dining stated that some of the reasons are: the rooms are furthest from the pools, lobby, restaurants, and shops, and the beds aren’t that large. I have also read online that these beds are uncomfortable as well as reported by guests. These rooms cost more than most of the other rooms, and they don’t have the easy access of the preferred rooms. Again, the Caribbean Beach Resort is one of the largest resorts at Walt Disney World with five separate sections.

Editors Note – I can confirm that the beds are terrible and we would hope that they did not put us in one of these rooms during our many stays.

Guests with vacations before the end of this year can book these rooms with or without a water view.  No word has been given on what these rooms will be rethemed to. The retheme will close a large section of the resort. However, many other resort rooms will be available at the Caribbean Beach Resort and all around Walt Disney World.

Will you miss the Pirate rooms at the Caribbean Beach Resort? Let us know below in the comments.
