Disney has ranked first in two of the six categories evaluated by U.S. News & World Report for their “Best Cruise Line” Rankings!
For 2019 Disney has ranked #1 in the categories of “Family Cruise” and “Caribbean Cruise.”
How Are They Chosen?
U.S. News & World Report create this list by evaluating 169 ships in 17 top cruise lines across six categories. “The rankings help travelers select the best cruise by brand, region, traveler type and budget.” And they reach their decision “for the Best Cruise Lines rankings factors in expert evaluations of cruise ship quality, reputation among travelers, results from health assessments conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other factors, such as price class and itinerary offerings.”
Here is the list of all the winners for 2019:
For the Money
1. Celebrity Cruises
2. Royal Caribbean International
3. Norwegian Cruise Line
For Luxury
1. Seabourn Cruise Line
2. Viking Ocean Cruises
3. Crystal Cruises
For Families
1. Disney Cruise Line
2. Royal Caribbean International
3. Carnival Cruise Line
For Couples
1. Viking Ocean Cruises
2. Seabourn Cruise Line
3. Azamara Club Cruises
In the Mediterranean

2. Viking Ocean Cruises
3. Azamara Club Cruises

It looks like Seabourn ties with Disney for the most wins but in different categories, but are in the top three in more categories. If you were going to go with a cruise line it looks like Disney and Seabourn are your best bets and Viking is a close 3rd in terms of top three placement!
Are Disney Cruises Worth It?
We actually do recommend Disney Cruise Lines. They don’t have the rides that the parks have, or anywhere near the crowds either, but they really do find a way to capture the Disney “feel.” I would definitely consider them for something a bit different for your next Disney vacation. Personally, I’m a parks girl, but it is nice to try Disney in another way. Plus, most of the food is included in the price of the package!
If you want to book a cruise, or just learn more about them, you can visit their website
Or you can book via a travel agent that specializes in Disney. I hear Dreams Unlimited does a lot of Disney Cruise bookings (I think they specialize in Disney Cruises) and would be your best bet. Another good one might be Small World Vacations. Agents are free to use and often know how to get the best deals!
