Disney Cruise Line has just cancelled the remainder of the 2020 “Alaskan Season” cruises from the Disney Wonder after the Canadian Government decides to extend their cruise ship ban through October 31, 2020.

According to the Disney Cruise Line Blog, this has left Disney with no choice but to cancel all of the Disney Wonder’s 2020 Alaskan sailings, as they leave from Vancouver. This cancellation will also include the Disney Vacation Club Member’s Cruise.

If you have paid in full you will be offered a choice of 125% future cruise credit to be used on a future sailing before March 31, 2022. Or you can ask for a full refund.

Those not paid in full will automatically get a refund back to your original form of payment, but it might take a bit because they are giving back a lot of money.

If you are booked with the Adventures by Disney Alaska Cruise package on the August 2nd or August 10th sailings you will automatically be refunded to your original form of payment.

Here are the cruises that have been cancelled:

  • Monday August 3, 2020 7-Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver
  • Monday August 10, 2020 7-Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver
  • Monday August 17, 2020 7-Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver
  • Monday August 24, 2020 7-Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver DVC Member Cruise*
  • Monday August 31, 2020 7-Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver
  • Monday September 7, 2020 7-Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver
  • Monday September 14, 2020 4-Night Pacific Coast Cruise from Vancouver

Disney Cruise Line Blog posted this letter:

Dear GUEST,

All of us at Disney Cruise Line hope you and your family are staying well. While COVID-19 continues to impact all our lives, we are inspired daily by the stories of care, compassion and resilience around the globe.

As you may be aware, the Canadian government recently extended its decision to not allow cruise ships to dock in any Canadian port until October 31. As a result, it is necessary to cancel your sailing.

In light of this cancellation, we are offering you the choice of a 125% future cruise credit to be used for a future sailing prior to March 31, 2022, or a full refund. The credit has been automatically added to your account. You may place a reservation on hold by applying it as a payment option when booking a new reservation online.

If you prefer to speak to someone directly, please contact a member of our reservation team at 1-866-325-6685 or 407-566-7797.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming you aboard as soon as we can and making magic for you and your loved ones.

Sincerely,

The Cast and Crew
Disney Cruise Line

*The Future Cruise Credit is equal to 125% of your original voyage fare plus the cost of the Vacation Protection Plan, if applicable. The FCC is only valid for sailings departing prior to March 31, 2022. Your original reservation must be paid in full to be eligible for the FCC. The FCC is applied per person and is non-transferable, non-refundable and has no cash value. Standard prevailing rates apply and Guests are responsible for any balance due after the FCC has been applied. If you end up not being able to use the FCC, you will be eligible for a refund up to the amount of your original voyage fare plus the cost of the Vacation Protection Plan, if applicable. Standard cancellation policies and terms and conditions apply to future sailings. Guests who previously received a FCC are not eligible for an additional FCC.”

DVC Cruise information:

Since the August 24th sailing was a chartered cruise booked through Disney Vacation Club, members book are receiving the following email directly from DVC. At this time, Disney Vacation Club is finalizing options, which will include a future Alaska Member Cruise sailing with details coming at a later time.

Here’s the letter DVC members are getting:

Dear Disney Vacation Club Member,

As you may have heard, the Canadian government has extended its decision to not allow cruise ships to dock in Canadian ports through October 31. This unfortunately requires Disney Cruise Line to cancel its 2020 Alaskan sailings departing from the port of Vancouver, which includes the Aug. 24-31, 2020, Member Cruise for which you have a reservation. Disney Vacation Club is finalizing options, which will include a future Alaska Member Cruise Sailing, that we’ll share with you soon.

Given the higher than normal call volume at Member Services, we ask that you wait to contact Member Services until after you receive a follow up email from us as our Advisors will not be able to assist you until details have been finalized.

While all of us at Disney Vacation Club cherish the opportunity to enjoy Member Cruise voyages with you and are deeply disappointed by this year’s cancelation, we’re as committed as ever to this great tradition and look forward to creating more Member Cruise magic for years to come.

Again, we’ll be back in touch soon to share more information about your 2020 Member Cruise reservation. In the meantime, we thank you for your patience and understanding, and for being part of our community.

Sincerely,
Disney Vacation Club”
