Today the Disney Parks Blog has given Disney fans a bit of good cheer after confirming that they will indeed be decorating for the fall/Halloween as well as confirming the Fall Cavalcade rumor and costumes will be allowed!

This year from September 15- October 31 the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World will be bringing Fall and Halloween to the park! Thank goodness because many of us would be sad if they didn’t.

This year we are going to have some new things since the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party dates have been canceled Disney is bringing in a Halloween-themed cavalcade! Now this rumor was already out there and mentioned that this might happen for the Christmas season as well. We can’t say what will happen with Christmas yet, but the Halloween cavalcade is moving forward featuring Mickey, Minnie, and more decked out in their Halloween costumes!

Also, the Disney Parks Blog has indicated that characters will be in costume in other areas of the park like Chip ‘n’ Dale in Frontierland and some characters on the trolly down Main Street, U.S.A.

But the really exciting news is that costumes are allowed this year!

If there’s an upside to losing the MNSSHP event it’s that for the first time guests can wear their costumes to the park during regular hours from September 15 – October 31. You do need to review the guidelines but here’s what the Disney Parks Blog said:

To bring some Halloween party fun into the park this year, for the first time guests of all ages can wear your funniest, Disney-ist, most creative costumes during Magic Kingdom Park regular operating hours from Sept. 15 to Oct. 31. As an important reminder, costume masks are not permitted for adults; only children younger than 14 years old are permitted to wear costume masks. In addition, all guests are required to wear approved face coverings during their visit. Before you arrive, check our Know Before You Go page and Costume Guidelines.

Of course there will be fun Halloween merchandise. A lot of it has already begun showing up in the parks, at the World of Disney stores, and on shopDisney.com.

There will also be special PhotoPass opportunities available as well.

I can’t tell you how happy this news makes me. I’m sure I’m not alone.

What do you think? Comment and let us know!
