Our favorite barbershop quartet is now performing directly on Main Street again. The Dapper Dans performances, a Magic Kingdom staple, haven’t been the same since the closure of the Walt Disney World Resort in March of 2020.
They have performed within the reopening of the resort, but it hasn’t been directly on Main Street. They have travelled in the Main Street Trolley and on the balcony of Main Street Station to perform. However, that changed recently when they returned to their proper place on Main Street.
This vaudeville-style singing and tap dancing quartet dressed in varying colored pinstripes, spats, and straw hats are always a need to see for my family and I. They are quite entertaining while they sing, tap dance, play instruments, and interact with guests.
According to the Walt Disney World website they performance a variance of songs including:
- “Yankee Doodle Dandy”
- “Strolling Through the Park”
- “Mr. Sandman”
- “If You’re Happy and You Know It”
- “Zip-a-Dee Doo Dah”
They perform everyday for roughly 20 minutes each performance and as of today these are listed performance times on the Walt Disney World website: 9:05 AM, 9:55 AM, 10:35AM, 11:20 AM, 1:05PM, 2:15PM, and 3:40PM.
I would highly recommend seeing the Dapper Dans when you visit the Magic Kingdom. Their performances never disappoint. Not only do I love singing and dancing, but I love the puns and jokes that they crack with guests when they are performing. Seeing them is like watching a vaudeville act of the 1920s. They add to the nostalgia factor of Main Street USA.
Their popularity also spawned a Funko Pop set and a near impossible to find on resale sites Disney spirit jersey that both debuted at D23.
