D23 News: New Mary Poppins Attraction Coming to Epcot’s United Kingdom Pavilion

Today at D23, Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products announced that there will be a new attraction coming to Epcot’s World Showcase.

During their “Sneak Peak Disney Parks Experiences” panel at D23 it was announced, with the help of Dick Van Dyke, that the first ever Mary Poppins attraction will be added to the United Kingdom pavilion in the World Showcase.

One of the best parts of the whole panel was all the love, and standing ovation given to Dick Van Dyke. It made me cry.

What will it be?

It doesn’t seem to be the long rumored carousel that everyone was expecting.

We don’t know much yet, but what we do know is that guests will enter Cherry Tree Lane and enter the Banks family home at Number 17.  Whether it’s a ride or walk through or anything else, we have no idea. That’s all we know at this time, just that there will be a Mary Poppins themed attraction and Dick Van Dyke is still a sweetie that everyone loves.

Stay tuned and we will report more when we learn it!

I am curious to see what they do. I like the idea but I worry it’s going to ruin the pretty garden in the back. But having Cherry Tree Lane would be so nice!
