Disney is announcing a slew of new projects and transformations at the D23 Expo this weekend.
One that has piqued this interest of many Epcot “oldheads” is the announcement that the former Odyssey restaurant will soon become home to an exhibit that celebrates the past and future of this beloved park.
Disney likes their overly long titles for exhibits, and this one is called “Walt Disney Imagineering presents the Epcot Experience.”
From the D23 blog…
Want to take a closer look at the exciting plans for Epcot? Later this year, a new experience center will open in the former Odyssey Events Pavilion—and you’ve never before seen anything like this in a Disney park. Walt Disney Imagineering presents the Epcot Experience will bring guests up-close and personal with engaging and interactive exhibits where they can step inside the relentless innovation, energy, and excitement—and where they’ll also be privy to never-before revealed details—driving the future of Epcot throughout this amazing transformation.
Still, it sounds pretty interesting and is a good use of space for the old Odyssey building.
(Well, unless the rumors are true and they turn it into a Starbucks.)
But for now, sure, it’s a good use.
More details to come as they become available.
