Could Gina Carano Be Returning To Star Wars? A New Rumor Says Yes?

Let me start off by saying the following is a RUMOR and I personally have no knowledge of the situation or a way to confirm. But it’s an interesting enough idea to warrant covering.  Again, it’s merely a rumor so take it with a grain of salt.

Recently there has been a new rumor swirling about that Gina Carano could be returning for a Fourth season of ‘The Mandalorian’ and the resurrected ‘Ranges of the New Republic’ show on Disney+.  Now this rumor comes from the YouTuber Doomcock who is sometimes right and sometimes wrong. But he admits that he can not independently verify what he’s being told.

However, he claims that a couple of sources have independently told him this is indeed the case. According to the YouTuber he has heard the following:

I wanted to share some exciting news with you. A meeting just took place with Jon (Favreau), Dave (Filoni), the Killer B’s and Gina Carano. It is a done deal. Gina signed the contract to return for season four of ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘Rangers of the New Republic.’ The contract also allows her to appear in cross-over episodes of other Lucasfilm ‘Star Wars’ properties.

Yet another source told him:

Gina will be back as Cara Dune. She will get her own show and it will be on her terms and she could possibly be the highest paid female in Star Wars, second only to the “Ward” aka Brie Larson, that is what we call her. Supposedly this deal was struck just last week. The ink is not dry yet.

But he does mention that there is a possibility that Carano gave up her Screen Actors Guild (SAG) card and that would stop her from being able to be use in the Disney+ shows. However another source told him that she merely let it lapse and can renew it whenever she wants.

In short, who the heck knows! But it is interesting that the rumor was confirmed by a couple of different sources.

Personally, I liked the character of Cara Dune. Even if I don’t agree personally with everything Gina Carano says, I think she has the right to say it. I also think that, when you look at the reasons for the firing, Disney and Lucasfilm went too far.

Plus they didn’t handle social media posts evenly with other celebrities being allowed to say similar things

Then Forbes agreed as well calling it “confusing and hypocritical.”

But she is now being scrutinized again for an image of her and costars Tyler Fischer and Nick Searcy flipping off the camera. It was Nick Searcy who posted it with the caption “Cancel This”

Honestly, after all that happened I can’t say I blame her.

At the end of the day we don’t know anything about ‘The Mandalorian’ beyond the third season or if there will be anything beyond that. We don’t know if Gina Carano herself would even want to return after what happened. We don’t know if she is coming back or not. It’s all just rumor and speculation.

Maybe Disney should consider implementing social media conduct guidelines for people either way.

What do you think? Comment and let us know.
