Toot Toot, all aboard the nostalgia train! Club Penguin is back.
Launched in 2005, Club Penguin was pretty popular, they even had Disney Pins for it. Over the years it started to decline and it was shut down in 2017.
Now the creators have re-launched the site, and it’s about the same as it was!
They already have over 6 million users.
Thank you all for helping us achieve this. 6 million penguins! 🐧❤️ pic.twitter.com/0SehPkujYN

We’re thankful that thousands of people are enjoying Club Penguin Online. We updated our servers last week to handle the huge increase of users but looks like we’ll need to invest in new servers.

A lot of people are returning to reconnect with their online friends said Lance Priebe, co-founder of Club Pengin. “There’s a strong connection there, when you have your friendships, your community, your circle. It’s important to reconnect with it, especially with that change of life right now.”
Since so many are under “stay-at-home” orders, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s a nice way to interact with others. According to THR, a lot of seniors who could miss out on proms and graduations, there are groups celebrating on the platform:
“With schools and universities having shifted online, multiple users have also improvised their own academic celebrations, holding school proms, graduation ceremonies and other social events through the online servers.”
Membership is free, and right now it might be a good time to revisit or introduce your kids to the world of Club Penguin. They have been adding new servers because I think it became bigger than they expected.
In the words of my daughter “Waddle on!”
