Cinderella Castle Receives First Decoration For Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration

Last night Disney Imagineers added the first decoration to Cinderella Castle for the upcoming 50th Anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World.

EARidescenceStarting on October 1, 2021, Walt Disney World will celebrate 50 years of magic with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” 18-month event.

We’ve already seen the entry signs repainted and they castle will receive decor inspired by the Mary Blair’s vision of “Cinderella.”

Here’s a look at the first piece that has been added to Cinderella Castle:

Stay tuned as the castle will continue it’s makeover leading up to the anniversary celebration. Other plans for the icon include “shimmering pearls, jewels and ribbons in royal blues and iridescent golds” being added to the turrets and towers.

Disney keeps referring to this as “EARidescence” but I can’t bring myself to do the same. It’s so cringy. I’ll just say “shining” and “shimmering” instead. I’m not even going to add the “Splendid” because then it’s cringy again.

Here’s the concept art:

Well it isn’t as bad as what they did to the castle for the 25th anniversary:

I was there for that and I’m should be there for this anniversary as well.
