Celebrate Halloween with LEGO Star Wars ‘Terrifying Tales’ on Disney+

Move over Holiday Special, this Fall LEGO Star Wars gives us a Halloween Special called Terrifying Tales. This Disney+ exclusive is set post-Rise of Skywalker and follows the misadventures of Poe Dameron and BB-8. So, what will they find in Darth Vader’s newly renovated castle on Mustafar? We’ll find out on October 1st.

We’re introduced to a few new characters in this, including a Hutt named Graballa. I’m not kidding. That’s the name Disney went with. Anyway, in true Hutt fashion, the slug bought Vader’s old home and did a fixer-upper job on it. Now, the home of the former youngling slayer is a luxury hotel with a Sith motif.

We first spotted this story at Super Hero Hype. The synopsis from StarWars.com lays everything out. There are some minor spoilers.

Lucasfilm | Disney

After the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Poe Dameron and BB-8 must make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet Mustafar where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt. The crime boss has purchased Darth Vader’s castle and is renovating it into the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel. While waiting for his X-Wing to be repaired, Poe, BB-8, Graballa, and Dean (a plucky and courageous young boy who works as Graballa’s mechanic) venture deep into the mysterious castle with Vader’s loyal servant, Vaneé. Along the way, Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars. As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges. With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends.

The major spoilers appear in the casting. I won’t be the one who ruins the surprise, but all that info can be found here.

Though the story takes place in the “current” Star Wars universe, I’d bet the “tales” being told will reference old and new Star Wars stuff. So expect a lot of the charm we’ve become used to from LEGO Star Wars. If there isn’t at least one Yoda death yell, I’ll be disappointed.

What are your thoughts on another LEGO-themed Star Wars Holiday Special? Which characters are you looking forward to seeing pop up? Let us know in the comments.
