Cast Member Only Vaccine Locations Opens By Epcot

Last week we mentioned that cast members in the union could get paid for getting the vaccine. Disney has taken the health of its employees seriously. A vaccination location has opened up within Walt Disney World.

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the Pfizer shot is now on offer near Epcot. Cast members need to sign up in advance, though. This location is not available to the public.

Regardless of a cast member’s active or furloughed status, they can come in for the shot. An e-mail sent out to all Walt Disney World employees stated, “Our Health Services team administers other vaccines to Cast and has the expertise and infrastructure in place to aid in this effort so we gladly agreed.

The exact number of cast members who have received the ‘Fauci Ouchy” was not made public. Both Local 362 and Disney are trying to be as accommodating as possible. Chances are that most employees will be vaccinated by the end of the Summer.

If you’re unsure about the vaccine, we’ve listed some info from the CDC below:

Who Should Get Vaccinated
  • The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is recommended for people aged 16 years and older.
  • Learn more about how CDC is making COVID-19 vaccine recommendations and CDC’s vaccine rollout recommendations.
Who Should NOT Get Vaccinated
  • If you have had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) or an immediate allergic reaction, even if it was not severe:
    • to any ingredient in an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (such as polyethylene glycol), you should not get an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.*
    • or after getting the first dose of the vaccine, you should not get a second dose of either of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.
  • An allergic reaction is considered severe when a person needs to be treated with epinephrine or EpiPen© or if they must go to the hospital. Learn about common side effects of COVID-19 vaccines and when to call a doctor.
  • An immediate allergic reaction means a reaction within 4 hours of getting vaccinated, including symptoms such as hives, swelling, or wheezing (respiratory distress).
