The state of California is renewing its indoor mask mandate – regardless of vaccination status effective Wednesday, December 15th according to SFGATE.com.
This masking order will last until at least January 15th due to rising COVID cases in California.
Dr. Matt Willis, Marin County health officer offered this comment to SFGATE:
“We think it’s important at this stage to reorient what we’re most concerned about, which is severe illness and death. Cases are increasingly mild, so we have shifted towards a more benign form of COVID-19 infection and disease based on vaccination rates.”
Besides the new mask mandate California is also enforcing unvaccinated people that attend “mega-events” (those with more than 1K people) must have a negative COVID-19 test within 24 hours of the event, if using antigen test. PCR tests must be done 24-48 hours before.
Disneyland has kept their indoor mask mandate despite the state relaxing mandates for indoor mask use earlier this year. Therefore, no end appears to be in sight for the indoor mask mandate at the Disneyland Resort.
