Bring Home This ‘UP’-Lifting Moment With Carl and Ellie

Pixar’s UP is the last great film from the once groundbreaking animation studio. Imaginative, touching, and filled with the spirit of adventure, UP captured everything possible with the medium of animation. In just a few minutes during the film’s opening, the storytellers at Pixar captured our hearts and made us feel for Carl and Ellie in a way that only Pixar could.

Now that sentimentality of a once-perfect life together is captured in physical form thanks to Beast Kingdom. These two figures are part of the company’s ‘Mini Egg Attack‘ figure line. Carl and Ellie are about 9.3cm (3″) tall each. The characters are made from ABS and PVC. Expect the loving couple to arrive in March 2023. The set is priced at $33.99.

Following the entire life of the happy couple, Carl and Ellie are soulmates that grow together from their childhood, get married, and stick together through the most bittersweet moments. The mini-egg attack focuses on their younger years as they hold hands and read books together in the wonderfully warm home.

Will Pixar ever regain its status as an iconic animation studio? Now that it has been grafted to Disney and relegated to the Mouse’s direct-to-video arm for Disney+, is a mass exodus in order? How could Pixar become great again? Is it even possible?

I mean it when I say that UP is the last great Pixar film for me. Disney’s influence over the company was becoming visible by the time 2009 rolled around, and this adventure was the last one that felt genuine. There’s a lot of love poured into UP.

What followed was the third Toy Store movie, a Cars sequel, a Monsters, Inc. prequel, and then Inside Out. Unfortunately, aside from a couple of gems, everything else has felt soulless, and none of these ever reached the artistry of the storytelling found in UP.

What do you think of the current state of Pixar? Let us know in the comments section below.
