Universal Orlando has added a protective cage to the bi-pass bridge that runs under the Velocicoaster at Universal Orlando.
When we first saw the bridge our comments immediately went to guest safety. There was nothing there protecting pedestrians from falling debris off of the running coaster. It’s very normal for guests to drop items or lose shoes on attractions like the Velocicoaster. So it was quite surprising to us that there was no protection for the bridge.
Apparently Universal Orlando finally figured out that they might want to add something for safety and they have.
The bi-pass bridge now has a steel cage and mesh protecting walking guests from items that may fall from above.

I’m just glad they put this in place. At first I thought maybe it would ruin the look, but it actually kind of fits. Especially given Isla Sorna Aviary cage from the Jurassic Park III film. It looks different, but it’s got the same vibe. When you think of it that way it adds to the area and the excitement a bit.
