Stated on the Disneyland website, starting October 4th both Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure will be shortening park hours. Disneyland will now close at 10:00pm instead of 11:00pm and Disney’s California Adventure will close at 8:00pm instead of 10:00pm. Both parks will still open at 8:00am.
Not much is known as to why both parks will be softening their hours, but some speculate it is due to a number of different factors, from the increased restrictions implemented in the State of California, fewer staff and lower attendance.
Ever since Disneyland reopened there have been concerns for how the park would operate due to the State of California being more strict on their COVID-19 Lockdowns and Guidelines/Restrictions compared to Florida and their Guidelines.
With the Park having recently opened attendance hasn’t been as high as the Parks expected, similar to when Galaxy’s Edge opened in 2019. The low attendance could also be due to the popular annual pass program being phased out.
Hopefully these earlier hours won’t be permanent as these seem a bit early, especially at California Adventure. It just means less time at the most magical place on earth.
