Best 50th Anniversary Menu Items at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Many people remember when one of the worst feelings in the theme park was to be hungry at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Fortunately, that is no longer the case. Some of the best counter service dining options are located there. Also, some of the best themed table service places are also located within Hollywood Studios.

Currently, the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World celebration is happening. One of the features of this celebration is themed food created just for this commemoration. Like the Magic Kingdom article, there are three medalists on our podium on best menu items.

One of the contestants in this competition finished close to appearing on the final podium of winners. The weakness of this 4th place finisher involves budget.

Hollywood Brown Derby is offering a Filet Mignon with Walt Disney’s Roast Beef Hash.

This pricey entrée ($49) is a grilled filet mignon atop Walt Disney’s roast beef hash with red wine Jus served with a fried egg. This is nice menu alteration for the 50th anniversary.

The bronze medalist of this contest is the Glimmer and Shimmer Pineapple Mousse.

This is golden pineapple mousse on a toasted coconut crisp with caramel cream and matcha sponge cake. This treat is $5.49. The pineapple mousse has solid flavor and the flavors are balanced. Perhaps, this mousse treat model is getting overused, but the execution is still good. Guests find this treat at the Trolley Car Café (Starbucks).

The silver medalist in this event is the Glimmer and Shimmer Blondie.

You should notice the title being like previous item. That might be foreshadowing of which items win in the judging. Menu describes this as “gooey toffee and toasted coconut blondie with salted caramel buttercream and festive gold nuggets.” The item costs $4.49 and may be found at Fairfax Fare and Backlot Express. The best part of this dish is the portion size. Now it will only feed one person really, but it is large for an item for less than $5. The item is very sweet but has flavor to go with the sugar rush and the price makes it a great value inside a Disney Park.

The gold medalist was surprising to me. The winner is the Glimmer and Shimmer Funnel Cake.

Obviously, “glimmer and shimmer” are the words to look for a 50th treat at Hollywood Studios. The base of this treat is a funnel cake. I have had many less then desirable funnel cakes that were dry and lacked flavor. That is not true for this gold medalist. This funnel cake features cookies n’ cream and vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate covered Oreo cookies. Of course, there are sprinkles also.

I am a sucker for dessert with sprinkles. The presentation of this dessert is excellent. The funnel cake on its own would be a decent dessert. This item has nothing truly unique about it, but the flavors all together it works well. The portion size meets the amount of cost. Now, this item could be very messy so protect your clothes while eating this treat.

This treat costs $8.49 and found at Epic Eats.

When you go to celebrate the 50th anniversary, have fun. In addition, you might want to glimmer and shimmer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
