Benedict Cumberbatch Says He’s Taking A Break From Acting

The new Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness film has just released and is receiving a mostly positive reception, at least for now. The film sees Dr. Stephen Strange (Played by Benedict Cumberbatch) traveling through the multiverse to battle a wide variety of foes and meet a few familiar faces some fans may pick up on.

Working on a big project like this must definitely be taxing on someone, especially the film’s main star. But in this case it appears that Benedict Cumberbatch is needing some down time as the actor said in an interview with IGN that he would be taking a break from acting:

“It gets very multiversal in real life as well. I guess one that’s less busy, maybe, I might be that variant very soon, which is nice, taking a bit of a break.

Oddly enough Benedict is not the only actor from the recent Spider-Man: No Way Home film that is taking a break. Both fellow British actors Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland have also announced that they will be taking breaks as well. Garfield stating that he was working on too many projects while Holland stated he wanted to start a family.

With these many actors taking breaks from their careers it makes you wonder how hard these Marvel actors are being worked. Or maybe their agents need to limit how many projects they sign up on.

Nevertheless, it is a shame that Benedict Cumberbatch will be taking a seat for a little while. Not much is known about his future with the MCU, so it may be a bit before we see the good doctor make a comeback.

What do you think? Does Cumberbatch deserve a break? Do you think he’ll return in the near future? Do you want to see a Doctor Strange 3?
