The director of the upcoming Ant Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Peyton Reed, has recently announced on his Twitter that the principle photography for the film has officially wrapped, along with a concept photo from artist Make James Hiblin:

Filming for Quantumania began in February earlier this year in Turkey and San Fransisco. The film is the third, and possibly final, film in the Ant-Man series. The series began in 2015 with the first Ant-Man film. Since then Ant-Man was featured in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, had a sequel with Ant-Man and The Wasp in 2018 and played a big part of Avengers: Endgame in 2019. Despite being based on a C/D-list character Paul Rudd’s performance made the character likable and relatable.

Peyton Reed has been with the series since inception. Being known mostly for comedy films when he decided to take up the task of doing an action movie some had their doubts. But he did a good job introducing a newer character to the MCU and is one of the more popular heroes that was introduced in Phase 2. He has since gone on to not only stay with the series he helped create but also direct episodes 10 and 16 of The Mandalorian for Jon Favreau at Lucasfilm.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will supposedly involve exploring the micro-verse. Think something like the multiverse but a lot smaller. Described as parallel dimensions in microscopic form that can only be reached by shrinking on a microscopic level. Multiple civilizations exist within this micro-verse. Homeworld, a world that inhabits a molecular chain. K’ai, a world of Green-Skinned people. Sub-Atomica, a microscopic star system with five planets. And many more.

The film is set to release on July 28th, 2023 in theaters. It is too far away to determine whether or not Disney Plus will affect the film’s release.
