If you ever doubted that “The Minions” generate a significant amount of revenue for Universal, we have a sight for you. As you may know, Universal Orlando finally entered the character popcorn bucket game. Other Universal parks already had character popcorn buckets. Yet only recently did they come to Universal Orlando. So far, those popcorn buckets have been popular but no crazy queues for them.

As of Monday June 6th, Universal Orlando unveiled a new popcorn bucket themed to the Minions. However, this bucket is in the shape of a vehicle. This popcorn bucket shows great details. Any fan of the Minions will want to at least look at this version of a popcorn bucket. Due to the more intricate shape of popcorn bucket, these cost $38. Now, this price point eclipses anything a competing theme park offers. However, I suspect this version of a popcorn bucket battle will lead to more escalation in this contest.

Yes, the new popcorn bucket costs $38. You can get standard available annual pass discounts to bring price down 10% to 15%. When you buy this popcorn bucket you get your first fill of popcorn included with purchase. Of course, I suggest not putting actual popcorn in this bucket if looking to collect or decorate with this bucket. The grease factor would deter quality.

Based on chatting with several of my Universal Orlando contacts, we should expect far more Minion items to arrive soon. Some guests spotted a new Minion “spinner” toy today also. Several other merchandise offerings will appear in preparation for “Minions: The Rise of Gru” coming out in USA on July 1st.

$25 Minion popcorn bucket version if $38 is too much for you

When you combine this with the probable new “Villain-Con” attraction replacing Shrek 4-D, Minions will be taking over Universal Studios Florida soon. Let us not forget about Universal Classic Monster’s Café closing. Most reliable sources expect that to be become a Minions Café, like the one in Universal Studios Hollywood.  This popcorn bucket combined with other details lean towards Universal Studios Florida finally having a set theme as you enter the park. Minions will be ready to say “Bello!” to you. Those funny banana obsessive friends await your next visit to Universal Studios Florida.
