Disney+ is moving forward on their Cassian Andor series Rogues One spin off for Disney+. It now appears that Adria Arjona will be starring in the show with Diego Luna.
Luna will be playing the character he portrayed in Rogue One, and the show’s lead, Cassian Andor. It is unknown yet what the character Adria Arjona will be playing, but according to Deadline she is being ” set to star opposite Diego Luna.”
The new show is set to debut sometime in 2021, provided there are no more delays. It is to follow Cassian Andor before the events of Rogue One, when the rebellion is young and getting started.
Here’s the synopsis:
“Cassian Andor follows the adventures of Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna will reprise the role of Andor, which he originated in the 2016 film. The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.”
We do know that Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One, is set to be show-runner as well as to write the pilot and some episodes of the new show. Alan Tudyk will also be returning as the popular K-2SO.
Disney has not confirmed her casting yet. Several outlets have reached out but no confirmations were made by Disney spokespeople.
