Looking for an interesting and fun way to support Give Kids The World Village, the nonprofit organization that provides “weeklong, cost-free vacations to children with critical illnesses and their families?”  This year from November 13 until January 3, 2021, there will be a “Night of a Million Lights Holiday Spectacular.”

This even will deck out the buildings along the “Village’s avenue” with over one million lights and even a 150-foot lighted tunnel that you can walk through.

During the even guests can ride the wheelchair accessible attractions, try cocoa and ice cream, play miniature golf and see Santa, Mayor Clayton and Ms. Merry (in a safe and physically distanced way.)

What is Give Kids the World Village?

Give Kids The World Village is a non-profit organization that partners with other organizations and companies to “provide children and their families accommodations in fully-furnished villas, transportation, tickets to theme parks, meals, daily entertainment and much more.

Many kids in wish-granting organizations want to go to Central Florida and the people at Give Kids the World Village do what they can to provide the best experience they can for these children and their families. According to their website , since 1986, they have had more than 175,000 children and their families at the location.

Sadly, due to the COVID-19 dangers and shut-downs, the Village also had to close in March. They are holding this event to raise money and get ready for when they can reopen to families again.

I want to take a moment to give a shout out to Dreams Unlimited Travel. I found out about the event on their website when I was searching for news. They are one of the “presenting partners” for the event and I really think it’s worth mentioning them for doing this. We are not affiliated with them, but as a mom and a teacher, I really appreciate them doing what they can to help with the event. Especially since the travel industry has taken a big hit.

Here’s what Dreams Unlimited Travel CEO Pete Warner said about it:

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the season than by shining some light on the wonderful work Give Kids The World does to bring happiness and hope to critically ill children and their families through this event.

I totally agree. Here’s a link to the Dreams Unlimited Travel site if you would like to book a trip. They are the number one Disney travel agency.

If you would like to visit the event or donate here is the Give Kids The World Village Website. You can follow it to get more information as it becomes available.
