5 Things We Love About Aventura Hotel at Universal Orlando

Every time I write about theme park resort hotels, my words glow in praise of the Universal Orlando ones. The partnership between Loews Hotels and Universal Orlando Resort functions very well for guests. Some of the most interesting ones appear at Universal Orlando in the “value plus” level.

In a previous article, we have written about things we love and things we dislike about Cabana Bay Beach Resort, a value plus hotel. The other value plus hotel on-site at Universal Orlando goes by the name of Aventura Hotel. For full disclosure, Aventura reigns supreme as my favorite on-site hotel at Universal Orlando.  Additional full disclosure, the list started with 11 things to love at Aventura.

Here are top 5 reasons in no certain order:

  1. EASY CHECK-IN

As opposed to the value level hotels and Cabana Bay Beach Resort, the check-in process rocks at this hotel. With a smaller number of rooms and a better system, check-in process takes a reasonable amount of time even at peak hours. Yes, I timed the check-in process several times during a recent stay. Guests never waited more than 12 minutes to check-in. The Universal version of mobile check-in performs well. When I checked in using it back in October, my check-in process took less than 2 minutes.

  1. DEDICATED WALKWAY TO VOLCANO BAY

From the Urban Pantry food court at Aventura, you can view the shuttles dropping off at Volcano Bay waterpark. This fact revolves around detail that Aventura is so close to Volcano Bay. Like Cabana Bay, Aventura offers a dedicated walkway to and from Volcano Bay. This feature makes early morning trips to Volcano Bay easy. This feature also aids in terms of returning to room. Like Cabana Bay, if you are looking to visit Volcano Bay, Aventura makes that easy.

  1. DINING OPTIONS

The food/beverage options at Aventura exceed value plus hotel expectations. First, Starbucks fans enjoy a store in the lobby. Also, this Starbucks location consistently possesses shorter wait times compared to other Starbucks locations.

Second, Urban Pantry food court offers solid value. Urban Pantry offers brick oven style pizza, grill with burgers and sandwiches, sushi, wok bowls, and gelato. Finally, this resort hotel presents a rooftop bar, Bar 17 and Bistro. The rooftop bar offers quality food and beverages. In addition, the views from the rooftop bar add to the experience.

  1. EASY TO NAVIGATE

Due to hotel design, guests enjoy excellent elevator access to their rooms. Guests can arrive to any room at this hotel in a matter of minutes. The weary walk from lobby to room does not exist here. Since Aventura is a tall building not spread out, your feet will thank you. In addition, shuttle buses that take you to the parks are very close to lobby. Guests can leave their room reaching the shuttle pick-up location in 5 minutes.

  1. OVERALL PRICE

For a resort hotel with so many features, the price point remains low. In October, I stayed here for under $100/night. You should expect to find this hotel at same or lower price than the lowest price basic theme park hotels at Walt Disney World for example. Now, you could spend more at a premier on-site hotel to get express pass and easy boat service to the parks. However, you would need to spend 2 to 3 times more.

Just like with Cabana Bay, there will soon be a “5 things” we dislike article about Aventura. Still, I love this resort hotel. I did not even discuss the clean modern feel, the views from rooms, robots, and the resort technology. May you consider this hotel for your next Orlando vacation.
