Target To Sell Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Merchandise Beginning on August 30

Disney and Target have teamed up again, this time to sell Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge merchandise “inspired by” the merchandise at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. These exclusive items will hit Target stores and Target.com on August 30th.

Ahead of the release Target is offering pre-orders on a few items. Most of them are already sold out in pre-order, but two items are currently still available.

There are also a lot of free extras available on the Target site as well including PDFs of Aurebesh Decoder, Coloring Sheets, Activities, and Recipes.

It’s an interesting move as originally you had to visit the Galaxy Edge locations at the Disney parks to purchase the Galaxy’s Edge branded merchandise. But now that Disney has been having an issue with the Star Wars fandom after the sequel trilogy, and they are trying to put Galaxy’s Edge into their books and media, it makes sense to release it in a wider way.

Plus, most people aren’t going to travel to Walt Disney World right now and Disneyland is still closed. This way they can promote the brand and their parks addition to a wider audience. Let’s just hope in the long run it sells far better than the sequel trilogy toys, that are still on the shelves.
